As I was walking my dogs this morning, I noticed that they would walk a few steps, then turn to see how far back I was from them. If I was too far, they would walk back towards me, if I was close enough for their comfort they would keep on walking. Their actions impressed upon me that they wanted to make sure where they were according to ME. They knew that if they went too far I would pull the retractable leash and they would have to walk at my heel until I thought that they got the “message” to keep close. But, they knew also that if they kept their eyes on me during the walk that they could walk with a certain amount of freedom to the end of the leash. They could sniff and seek as much as they wanted too.
Do you walk with your eyes on the Lord? How far do you stray before you “check in?” Do you wait until He pulls the leash before you respond? How many times does God have to pull you in on your walk? Do you stay close to Him or does he have to give you the “lesson.” As Christians we should check in with God before he has to pull the leash and remind us that we have gone too far. Instead of calling our BFF’s we should GOOK – Get On Our Knees - and seek what thus sayeth the Lord! As liturgical dancers we must check in during every process of creating dances for the Lord! From garments, to music, choreography and your scriptural foundation, we must seek God! How is your daily walk/dance with the Lord? Have you checked in with Him lately? Do you keep your eyes on Him? “Delight yourself also in the LORD: and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way unto the LORD; trust also in Him; and He shall bring it to pass.” (Psalms 37:4-5) Make a new commitment to God today. Delight yourself in meeting Him daily as you commit this day and all your ways to Him! Blessings in AbunDANCE! Sign up for my email blog! Just sign up below;
